Fr.O Neills 1:13 v Watergrasshill 0:20

We played Watergrasshill in our third Div. 2 Lge. game on Sunday last in Aghavine, we were forced to line out minus a fair few of our more established Players due to several valid reasons so it was always going to be a tough hour still we got a great start scoring a well taken goal in the 2nd minute of the game the Hill. replied with a pt. from a free which we followed with a pointed free of our own, from here the Hill. went on a bit of a scoring spree firing over the next 6 pts.we started to come more into the game as it entered the last 10 mins. of the half scoring 5 pts. of our own with the Hill. responding with 2 pts. of their own our opponents finished the half the stronger scoring 3 more points to lead at half time on a scoreline of 12 pts. to 1:06. We needed a good start to the 2nd half but it was the Hill. who were first to strike with a pt. we replied with a pt. and they cancelled this with 3 more well taken points, we upped the tempo again scoring 4 more points to reduce the margin to 2 in fact only for the fact that we took a few wrong options when in good scoring positions we could have been in a much better position entering the last 10 mins. but credit the Hill. they didn’t panic and they opened up a 4 point gap once more both Teams traded 2 more pts. a piece to see out proceedings with the final scoreline in the Hills favour at 0:20 to 1:13. We had some very encouraging performances from some of the younger lads on the day but overall the more experienced Team won out, the learning process continues.

Premier Minor 2 Football C/ship.

The best of luck to our Minor Footballers who are in 1st. rnd. C/ship. action this week v Ahan Gaels from West Cork in Carrigaline on Weds. 25th, they are unbeaten in the Lge. with 4 wins from 4 games played but as everyone knows this counts for little on C/ship. day so again the best of luck to all involved.

Our Jnr. Footballers follow our Minors into C/ship. action on Sunday next v Castlelyons, in contrast to our Minors preparation hasn't been great with only one win from 4 games played in the Div. 2 Lge. but again as with the Minors this counts for little on C/ship. day, so the best of luck to all involved.

Training is up and running at Aghavine in the last couple of weeks. Our U14

Hurlers were invited to Knockanore for their Annual tournament. The combination

of Tallow/Knockanore were winners on the day. Many thanks for the invite and

the hospitality on the day.
