Jnr. C Hurling C/ship. 2017

Our Jnr. C Hurlers suffered defeat in the 1st rnd. of this years C/ship. last friday evening v Cobh in Ballinacurra. In what was considered to be a great advertisment for this grade it was Cobh who proved to be that bit more accurate on the score board so hard luck lads, still all is not lost as the lads are unbeaten in the Div. 3 Lge. and are in a good position to qualify for the Lge. Final.

Patrick Irwin R.I.P.

It was with great sadness that the Parish and Club heard of the sad and untimely passing of Pat Irwin from Ring last Sat. evening. Pat was a former Secretary and Player for the Club and Selector with various Teams down through the years our heartfelt condolances go out to Pats wife Breda his children Simon & Grace and the extended Irwin & O'Donoghue Families, Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Premier Minor 2a Hurling C/ship. S/F

Fr. O'Neills 2:14 v Fermoy 3:16

Killeagh was the venue for this Premier 2a semi final tie played on Wednesday

night last. Fermoy were to start the stronger and had a goal and a point in the

opening five minutes.  2 Colin Sloane frees and a point from Jason Hankard

seemed to settle us but quickly Fermoy got a second goal to give them a five

point lead. Points were exchanged from there to half time with Fermoy going in at

the break leading 2:026 to 0:07. We brought the score down to 2 points early in the second half with a goal from Ger Millerick and a point from Adrian

Leahy. The game seemed to be in the melting pot at this stage but Fermoy

replied with a goal and a point to give them a commanding lead midway through

the second half. Some fine long range frees from Colin Sloane were cancelled

out by points from Fermoy. A late goal from Jason Hankard was not enough

and they ran out five point winners. Fermoy now meet Carrigtwohill in the County

Final. Alot of work has gone into the lads by management and a semi final tie

in the League looks on the cards in the next couple of weeks, hopefully we can

go another step on reaching this final with a chance of silverware before the

season end.
