Fr.O Neills 3:20 v Clonakenny 2:09

We returned a favour in travelling to Tipperary on Sat.the 7th last to take on Clonakenny in Holycross,we had played Clonakenny back in April in Aghavine and lost out by a point in that game so the focus was on turning the tables on our Tipp.opponents in their own back yard.Right from the off we took the game to the Tipp.lads and with scores coming from all areas of the pitch from our forward division we bulit up a commanding lead by half time to lead on a scoreline of 1:11 to 5pts.To be fair to the Tipp.lads they started the 2nd.half in whirlwind fashion and had added 2goals and a point to their half time tally before we knew what had hit us and to close the gap to 2 points after 5 mins.of play.Regaining the momentum our lads went on a scoring spree of thei own and duly scored 2:05 of their own to effectively put an end to the Tipp.lads mini revival both Teams closed out the game scoring 3 more points each which left us clear winners on the above scoreline.One area of concern would be the number of wides we had during the course of the game 18 in total needless to say this will be worked on in training over the next couple of weeks this aside this was a very workman like performance with a great attitude shown throughout the game.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Holycross/Ballycahill for the use of their excellent facillities and to thank O'Gormans Pub for the superb meal that was served up to us after the game,having watched the Clare v Dublin AI qualifer on TV we boarded the bus and headed for home,all in all this was a very worthwhile trip and a great evening of Hurling and bonding was had by all.
