Fr.O Neills 3:10 v Clonakenny 2:14

We welcomed the current Mid-Tipperary Intermediate Hurling Champions to Aghavine on Sat.evening the 14th last for a challenge game.After our last showing in the Lge.v’s Blackrock everybody was hoping for a much improved performance in this game and to be fair that was what we got.Fielding a very young side due to several of our more seasoned lads not being available because of injury and electing to play against a strong wind for the first half it was Clonakenny who led at half time on a scoreline of 1:10 to 2:04 with some very good scores being taken by both sides.Turning to play with the elements it was our lads who took the game to the Tipp.boys and with some good scores being taken through a good attitude and work ethic we managed to get our noses in front with a few minutes to go but credit Clonakenny for not giving up and with a couple of good scores of their own it was they who won by a point on the above scoreline,all in all a very worthwhile exercise with the age old Cork/Tipp.rivalry still very much alive and kicking even at Club level.
