After the disappointment of last weeks opening round defeat it was important to get back to wining ways when we took on Ballinacurra in Aghavine on Sunday last.On an ideal day for Football it was Ballinacurra who were quickest out of the blocks and showed to all present that they were well up for the game from the word go,to their credit our lads worked their way into the game and went in leading by 6pts.to 4pts.at half time.On the restart we took the game to our opponents and opened up a 3 pt.lead after a couple of minutes,we kept that margin until midway through the half only to be pegged back to parity when after a fast flowing move up the field Ballinacurra scored a fantastic goal,sensing that the game was now in the melting pot our lads showed great maturity when in a devastating spell they scored 5pts.without reply to close out the game,credit must go to both Teams for the standard of Football played and to the commitment shown for the hours play,what has become evident after our two games played is that there is serious competition for places and with fellas fitness levels improving by the week the make up of the starting 15 come C/ship.could throw up a few surprises.
