with the hurling coming in afterwards.

U16 East Football League.

Fr. O’Neills 2:03 v Cobh 3:09

Our footballers had their first outing in Cobh with a nine  point defeat. A poor start

was to cost us as Cobh got 2:03 in the first half. We were then reduced to 14 players

and this certainly did not help the cause as it was an uphill struggle from there on.

Glenville 1:08 v Fr. O’Neills 1:02

We had our second league game in Aghavine on St. Patricks day. This was a much

better display  considering we  had a suspended player from the previous outing and

we were short  a couple of regulars. Glenville a football stronghold took their points

early on and we had a few bad wides as we tried  to reduce  the  lead by half time.

Glenville kept their  lead intact and ran out seven point  winners.

Fr. O’Neills 6:07 v Carrignafhear 2:03.

Our third game gave us a comfortable victory over Carrignafhear which was played in Aghavine. Our forwards scored 3:05 in this first half. Jake Shine, Jason Hankard, and John Millerick getting the goals  in the first half.  Any attacks in the first half by Carrignafhear came to no avail as William Abernethy, Ciaran Cuillinane and Aidan McEvoy were in no mood  for giving any scores away. The second half Carrignafhear  were to get 1:02 in a five minute spell  but further scores from David O Neill, Jake and Jason afterwards saw us finish out the game as winners. We were short Sam Shanahan and Evan McEvoy and with a full complement we will do well in the upcoming games.

Panel: K. McHugh, khemthong, W Abernethy, B. Kenneally, A. Mcevoy, C. Cuillinane, C. Murphy, P. Hassett, M. Cody, J. Millerick, D. O’Neill, C. Lee, S. Walsh, J. Hankard, J. Shine, S. Shanahan, E. McEvoy, Diarmuid O Neill, E. Bernard, D. Higgins, D. McAllister.

U12 East  Football League.

Fr. O’Neills 2:01 v Aghada 0:00

Our first league game was played in Aghavine on Sat morn. last. This group in the league

is played 13  aside and with 12 players on the age this year this frees up a lot of our U11

player's for their own league .The first half Edmund Motherway got  a fine goal  from a

long high delivery. Backs were on top on both sides but Aghada missed  a couple of points,

we went in a the break a goal up. Rian O Brien our goalie in the first half went outfield and

he registered a goal which put daylight between the sides a free from Rian put the score

2:01 to 0:00, this  was to be the final score of the game. Michael Wall, Colin Cronin, and Jonathan Swayne played  fine games in the backline and this was one of the reasons we did not concede any scores in this  game. Well done lads keep up the good work.
