U14 East B Hurling League.

Fr. O’Neills 3:03 v St. Catherines 5:07

We came out second best in this league game played in Aghavine on Thursday evening last.

An early goal from the Catherines full  forward and two points from play gave the visitors a

five point  lead, a Daire Higgins free  and a Ciaran McHugh goal brought us back into the game and at the half time whistle we were down by 1.6 to. 1.3. St Catherines with the aid of the breeze in the second half got an early goal and a point, but we replied with two goals courtesy of Ciaran Mchugh and Garret Prenderville, St Catherines never panicked and two goals in the last ten minutes gave them a ten point win. Daire Higgins and Sean O Riordan played  well in midfield throughout, Jonathan  Swayne had a fine game at corner back. We were short a few regulars for this game and this did not help the cause against a physically stronger Catherines outfit.

U16 East Football League.

Fr. O’Neills 2:04 v Whitechurch 2:04

A draw was a fair result in this league game played in Aghavine on Sat. last. The wind was to

play a factor with Whitechurch with the aid of the elements ahead at the break on a

scoreline of 1.2 to 0.2. In this period Whitechurch hit the crossbar twice our points coming

from a John Millerick free  and a point  from Jason Hankard. We dominated the most of the

second half but some wayward shooting nearly cost us with a Jason Hankard goal levelling this game with time nearly up. Again in this game we  were short  a few  regulars thanks to

the younger  lads  who go a late call up for this game.

Well done to the U21 Footballers who defeated Castlemartyr in the East Cork final on

Sunday in Shanagarry
