Cul Camp.

We held a very successful Culcamp last week in Aghavine. We had 170 boys and girls in attendance. The weather was great for the week and the reports back from those who participated was very positive. We had all our Coaches and helpers from both the Camogie and Hurling Clubs and this was great to see. Luke O Farrell and Orla Cotter were our special guests during the week and the Barbecue on the final day went down a treat. There is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes in the organising of the Camp and many thanks to Dave Dorgan and his team in doing this in a very professional manner all week.

U14C Football Championship.

Fr. O’Neills 5:14 v Courcey Rovers 2:07.

This first round tie was played in Aghavine on Sunday week last where we ran out comfortable winners. We played very well in the first half where we were to lead at the break by a scoreline of 2.7 to 1.4. In this first half period we moved the ball fast and some fine  scores from Daire Higgins, Brian Coleman and Ciaran McHugh gave us a healthy lead coming nearhalftime. Daire Collins with a fine goal just before the break was a real tonic as we had the wind at our backs going into the second half. Courcey Rovers never gave up and a goal after the resumption gave  them a lifeline. We made a few switches and this helped and we were to get further scores which was to kill off this game. This was a good days work all round and the management will take plenty of positives going into the next round.
