Fé 14 Football C/ship.

Our Fé 14s travelled to Aghinagh on Thursday last to play the 2nd round of the Football championship. We got off to a slow start and found ourselves 3 pts. behind after 15 mins. Slowly we grew into the game with points from Dara Higgins and Ciaran McHugh and a great score from a free by Tom Wall. The half time score was 4 pts each. Both teams exchanged points at the start of the second half and we were holding our own until a good move by Aghinagh saw them work the ball up the field and finish with a well taken goal. Despite the best efforts of James Murphy who made some great saves on the night we conceded two more goals in a 10 min spell that saw the match drift away from us. Credit must go to the lads though as they battled hard and kept going to the end finishing with two well worked points from Dara and Tom. The final score was 3 - 9 to 0 - 9.

Fé 10 report

Since the start of the year the U10 Panel have played 2 football blitzes and 2 hurling blitzes. The last blitz was hurling one which was held in Carrigtwohill where we had 2 teams entered with the help of the U9'S. The composition of the 2 teams were made up of a mixture of 9's and 10's. The lads played games against Youghal, Aghada, Nemo, Killeagh, Carraigtohill and Carrignavar. There were fine performances from each player in each divided group with all the games being very competitive. As the year has developed games were organised between Clubs such as Castlemartyr, Youghal and St. Catherines. These games were a step up from the blitz situation as it had 10 a side playing in a bigger pitch Again there were great performances by all players who did well to come to terms with the bigger teams and field. The year is not yet over as there will be more matches and training sessions to follow.
