Intermediate Hurling Lge. Div. 2 Final

Fr. O’Neills 3:17 v Carrigaline 0:11

Congrats and well done to all the players & Mgmt. Team on a very good performance and win over Carrigaline in the Div.2 Hurling Lge. Final last Sat. in Cobh, this was a great way to finish off the year and is a just reward for everybody involved and for the dedication and commitment shown by the lads all year.

THE BATTLE OF GARRYVOE.

Garryvoe is an area between Ladysbridge and Shanagarry which has long been a disputed catchment area for the GAA Clubs of Fr. O'Neills and Russell Rovers. On the 18th of December in Garryvoe Hotel at 3pm this dispute will be settled once and for all when members of both Clubs will come face to face in the boxing ring in THE BATTLE OF GARRYVOE. Will the Black and Amber team emerge black and blue or will the recently crowned County Champions be runners-up this time..... it's all to fight for. Tickets are available locally or from Club members. This is expected to be a sell out so get your ticket early and wear your Club colours on the day. Keep an eye out for some trash talking, announcement of bouts, fighter profiles and a couple of competitions over the coming weeks. Stand up or be counted out.

Juvenile Club

Annual Raceday.

Our Annual Juvenile fun and race evening will be held on December 27th in Garryvoe Hotel

from 4pm to 7pm. We have been running this event the last number of years and it has

been well supported and also it is a vital fundraiser for our Juvenile club. There will be

face painting and a quiz and obviously the races will be the main event.

Committee members are now out selling race tickets for the next few weeks, your

support will be much appreciated.

U12 Football Blitz in Aghada.

We were invited to this U12 Football blitz which as usual was very well ran by the hosts.

Fr. O’Neills, Aghada, St. Colmans and Galtir of Waterford were the four teams who

Competed Galtir were the winners and we were the winners of the Plate.

Many thanks for the invite to this blitz and the Willie Ryan Hurling earlier in the season.

Over night trip to Knockadoon Camp.

The U14/U16 age groups went to Knockadoon camp on Friday week last. A total of

23 players attended and talking to the players they had a great time. We had

guest speakers, Courtney Canning spoke on the values of player's on teams, we had

Billy Murphy on nutrition, Paul O Neill on fitness just to name a few. Dick O Neill,

Dave Dorgan, Conor Wall, Brian McSwiney and others organised this very well. Some

of our Intermediate County winning players were also in attendance and the players were

delighted with this. Many thanks to the Dominican fathers for the use of this fine

facility.

Training Updates.

All the games are over now but there is plenty of training going on behind the scenes.

The U6 players have started the basic Hurling skills in Ladysbridge Hall and this will run

for the next six weeks on Monday nights. All players on this age group are more

than welcome to come, or parents who are in the parish who have their children going

to other schools we would be delighted to have them. The U12/14 players go to

Midleton College on Wednesday nights.

Intermediate League Win.

Congratulations to the Intermediate Hurlers who defeated Carrigaline in the Division 2

League Final in Cobh last Saturday. What a year.
