Abernethy Cup

Well done to the lads on a deserved victory over Aghada in the 1^st rnd. of the Abernethy Cup played in Killeagh on last Weds. Night, the semi-final draw took place at the Launch of this years Jnr. A C/ship. which was held in Sars. GAA  last Thurs. night the semi-final pairings are as follows: Fr. O’Neillls v Sars, Cloyne v Castlelyons.

Premier Intermediate & Jnr. A Hurling 2017

It’s all roads leading to Killeagh this coming weekend, first on Fri. night our Premier Intermediate Hurlers take on Castlelyons in what is an East Cork Derby and a last chance saloon for both Clubs as the winners move on to the Draw for the 3^rd rnd. with the losers out of the C/ship. proper and into a playoff against one of the other 2^nd rnd. losers to determine the bottom 2 Clubs. On the following night Sat. 24^th our Jnr. A Hurlers are in action when they take on our near neighbor’s  St. Ita’s in the 1^st rnd. of this years C/ship. With all players training together over the last number of months and having put in a lot of hard work both panels and Mgmt. Teams are eagerly looking forward to these games, so the best of luck to all involved and here’s hoping for 2 C/ship. Victories over the weekend.

Best of luck to the Intermediate and Junior hurlers in there respective Championship games against Castlelyons and St. Itas this coming Friday and Saturday night.

Our U12 to U16 age groups travelled to Thurles last Sunday for the Cork Waterford game also accompanied by many parents. The bus left Ladysbridge at 11.30am and arrived back at 9.30pm. There were plenty tired bodies on the arrival back but I'm sure they won't mind, they got the sunniest day of the year and what a great result. I'm sure all students who sat the exams this past week were happy and I'm sure they are looking forward to going back to the fields of Aghavine later in the week.
