OUR U14 HURLERS HEADED TO LISGOOLD ON WEDNESDAY THE 13th FOR THE SEMI FINAL OF THE EAST B HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP. HAVING HAD A GOOD WIN OVER AGHADA IN THE FIRST ROUND WE TRAVELLED TO LISGOOLD IN GOOD SPIRITS. HOWEVER LISGOOLD REALLY TOOK THE GAME TO US IN THE FIRST HALF AND WE ONLY SCORED A SINGLE POINT LEAVING THE HALF TIME SCORE O-1 TO 0-7 IN FAVOUR OF LISGOOLD. THE LADS REALLY TOOK THE GAME TO LISGOOLD IN THE SECOND HALF WINNING THE SECOND HALF 1-3 TO 2 POINTS. HOWEVER WE COULD NOT PULL BACK THE HALF TIME LEAD OF 6 POINTS. FINAL SCORE OF 1-4 TO 9 POINTS IN FAVOUR OF LISGOOLD.

AS THIS WAS OUR LAST U14 HURLING GAME OF THE YEAR WE THE MENTORS WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE PLAYERS FOR ALL THEIR WORK THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. ALSO THEIR PARENTS FOR ALL THE HELP AND SUPPORT.

WE WOULD LIKE TO WISH THE 6 LADS ON THE AGE  DARIE, GARRETT, SEAN, MICHAEL, JAMES AND JAMES THE BEST OF LUCK AS THEY MOVE UP INTO THE U16 RANKS. WE WOULD ALSO LIKE TO THANK ALL THE U12 PLAYERS WHO TRAINED AND PLAYED WITH US THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.

THIS YEARS U14 TEAM HAS IMPROVED GREATLY THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AND IF THEY KEEP UP THE HARD WORK WILL HAVE MANY GREAT DAYS YET TO COME.

East U16 B Football Championship Fr. O’Neills 2:09 v Killeagh / Itas 1:04

We travelled to Killeagh for this East B semi-final tie on Friday week last.

We played very well in the first half leading 1:05 to 0:00 at the short whistle. We got some fine scores in that first half Jake Shine with 1:01, John Millerick ,

Conor Lee, and Peter Hassett with the other scores. Our defence was

very solid with Sam Shanahan, Brian Kenneally and David O’Neill very prominent.

Killeagh / Itas got an early point in the second half and this was followed by a goal.

Peter Hassett and Mathew Cody drove our team on from midfield and a goal from

Conor Lee and further points from Jake, Conor, Peter and John Millerick saw us

worthy winners. We now meet Killara Og or Bride Rovers in the B1 East 3 Final.
