U12 Willie Ryan Tournament Aghada.
We competed in the
annual Willie Ryan tournament in Aghada on
Saturday last.
Tracton, Castlelyons, Aghada, Carraignafhear and ourselves
made up the up the
group. We had a fine one points victory over
Castlelyons in the
opening game. This was followed by an 11 point
victory over Tracton
in our second match. Carraignafhear beat us in our
third game by a point
but a win over Aghada in our final game gave us
runners up place in
the group standings. We met Carraignafhear
in the final and
after a closely fought first half we were two points
down at half time. We
seemed to tire in the second half and
Carraignaphear went
on to be the victors on a 3:02 to 0:00 scoreline at the
finish. We have a
very young Fé12 panel and they can be very proud of
their endevours
during the day. They showed plenty of skill and worked
hard and with a lot
of players available again next year
i have no doubt we will
have another crack at this annual tournament. We compete in this tournament
every year and as usual Aghada put on a great show.

U16 East A Football Championship Fr.O Neills 4:13 v
Canovee 1:06
We had a fine victory over a
fancied Canovee side in the first round
of the East A Football
Championship. The opening exchanges were tight and after 20 minutes we led by
four points to three. Aiden
McEvoy got a goal in the 25th
minute which was to give us a
halftime lead of 1:6 to 0:5. We
were to get a very good start to the
second half with 2 early goals
from Arthur Nganou and Ger
Millerick. Further points from
Loic Nguefang and Arthur Nganou gave us
a comfortable lead and we were
to run out winners by 4:13 to 1:06.This
was a very solid performance
where our defence played very solidly in
the second half. Our superior
fitness was to be a feature of
this game and we now look
forward to a second round tie against
Kilmurry on Friday the 18th
next.
